Description: The Ladera Inglewood Boomer Health & Wellness Festival is association with members from the Jackie Robinson American Legion Post 252 will host a screening of the documentary film "Double Victory', produced by George Lucas on the Tuskegee Airmen at the Ladera Inglewood Boomer Health & Wellness Festival, Saturday, May 19, 2012. Film will screen at 4:00PM as part of the Festival activities. In attendance will be members of the Los Angeles Chapter Tuskegee Airmen, (TAI), Inc. to be recognized that day in honor of Armed Forces Day. Everything is FREE!
Other Festival activities that day starting at 10:00 am include:
Health screenings and health workshops that highlight the coming together of Western & Eastern medicine for our health & vitality. Workshop topics to be covered include stress management; Prevention and wholistic management of such illness as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, arthritis, depression, pms, headaches, alzheimer's, lupus, and obesity; healthy caregiving and elder care including fall prevention; and the healing power of art, creativity, laughter and Boomer Romance!
Activities will include healthy cooking and raw/live food demos and samples; yoga, tai chi and meditation, aromatherapy and massage therapy; Tree planting, urban gardening and composting workshop & green thumb gardening tips; and harvesting, preserving and canning your garden harvest, all by some of LA's top food chiefs, yoga teachers, gardeners and arborists.
Exercises for boomers and their families will be demonstrated by one of L.A. leading fitness guru ... Mr. Jessie L. Drummer. Jessie promotes "Keep It Moving" by drinking lots of his designed "Fresh & SEXXA H2O.
There will be Dance demos from bellydance, to ballroom to linedance, stepping, to salsa to Zumba! Panel discussion with Vann Duke of SecondHalf Fitness, Named "Top Fitness Trainer" by the San Francisco Chronicle! End of the day dance tribute to Don Cornelius/Soul Train Finale!
Ladera Inglewood Boomer Festival will celebrate the Tuskegee Airmen by screening the film "Double Victory", with the LA Tuskegee Airmen Chapter in attendance.
Boomer Marketplace Vendors will share the latest in consumer resources, innovative products and information from experts in the areas of finance, legal, transportation, care-giving, health care, housing, real estate, positive aging, business and other special services.
Hosts include Youth Greening & Los Angeles County of Parks & Recreation and Top Ladies of Distinction Ladera Heights Chapter.

Location: Parking Lot next to the Palms Fire Station #43 (Motor Ave & Regent St)
Description: Bring comfortable clothes and join your neighbors to clean up the neighborhood. PNC will provide gloves, trash bags, and clean up supplies. We will meet at the Fire Station on Motor Ave & REgent Street and work for 2 hours. See you there!
